American Superbike

The Buell experience

In 1984, Harley-Davidson engineer Erik Buell took what was supposed to be a "leave of absence" from the Motor Company. When he returned 14 years later he brought with him the Buell Motorcycle Company and a line of unusual high-performance motorcycles. In a world filled with sport bikes that are virtually indistinguishable from one another, Buells maintain totally unique styling and performance.

Cyclone M2

With 85 ft. lbs. of torque at 4900rpm, the 91hp, 1203cc Cyclone M2 produces plenty of off-the-line muscle the instant you let out the clutch. Adjustable suspension and 43mm of front fork assure precise, responsive handling whether you're dodging around town or dishing it out in the corners. Roomy, neutral seating offers both comfort and performance, while serious stopping power comes compliments of a six-piston caliper front brake. New for 2001, a redesigned dash complete with tachometer for superior street performance. Torque on.

Lightning X1

Appetite for acceleration? Then sink your teeth into this. The Lightning X1's 101hp, 1203cc Thunderstorm engine combines street smarts with a Dynamic Digital Fuel Injection system that provides optimum performance based on temperature, throttle opening and engine speed. Adjustable, race-bred suspension results in an aggressive ride, while a narrow profile and mass centralized muffler allow for intuitive lean. A cast-aluminum tailsection, rowdy chin fairing, and optional polished aluminum wheels contribute to styling that's about as subtle as a bench press in a ballet studio. And for those restricted to a diet of eating dust, the X1 is capable of leaving poseurs at the lights. Enjoy your meal.

Thunderbolt S3

Performance meets comfort. Comfort meet performance. Now go get acquainted on a suitably twisted back road. Even at aggressive mid-range speeds, the Thunderbolt S3's 101hp, 1203cc Thunderstorm engine provides exceptional power without sacrificing one iota of comfort.

Performance is enhanced by Dynamic Digital Fuel Injection, a closed looped system that adjusts to changing conditions for peak performance. Thanks to a 55-inch wheelbase and inverted front fork, handling is precise, responsive and virtually intuitive.

Creature comforts? You get a loaded dash with tachometer and clock. Naked styling that courts the wind. Sport touring handlebars. And a substantial saddle for roomy two-up comfort. It's the civilized way to pound the asphalt into submission.

Thunderbolt S3T

With all the blistering performance of the S3, the Thunderbolt S3T is ready for the long haul with color-matched saddlebags that feature your choice of deep or narrow covers. Both come with fitted inner luggage to stow road gear, while deep covers can accommodate a full-face helmet. Fairing lowers protect your legs from anything the four winds throw your way. Convenient to access, fairing bags help maximize storage capacity. Cell phone anyone? Cargo credentials continue with an underseat totebag that provides ample room for sport touring essentials. Upright high touring handlebars provide a relaxed riding position perfect for marathon road trips. Three states later, you'll still feel relaxed.

BLAST

Talk about exhilaration made easy. The Buell Blast provides all the performance you need to take on the town or track through the twisties with a 492cc, single cylinder motor. Buell has made the Blast extremely responsive, so handling is intuitive. Low speed maneuvers are virtually effortless and initiating turns takes just a hint of input at the bar. With two available seat heights, you can now ride with added comfort and control. Finally, take time to personalize your Blast with Buell's Personal F/X graphics system and road ready accessories. Just think. At only $3,995, you can now own a new bike that's a blast to ride.

Buell Blast...

Guaranteed!

Buell Motorcycle Company recently announced the Buell Blast Purchase Guarantee, a program that delivers a motorcycle that's a blast to ride and a guaranteed value for up to one full year.

"When a customer buys a new Buell Blast, they'll have a full year from the original date of purchase to trade it in on new Buell V-Twin or Harley-Davidson motorcycle and receive a trade-in allowance equal to their original base purchase price [*up to MSRP] at participating dealers," said Buell General Sales Manager Scott Miller.

The Buell Blast Purchase Guarantee applies to current original Blast owners as well, provided the trade-in transaction on a qualified bike occurs within one year of their original purchase date. The offer ends July 5, 2001.
